WEEKEND WITH THE BURKETTS!

Miduk with Kasey, Kaitlyn and Corey

The Gang's ALL HERE!!!

Wes had to go back to Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, Boo Hoo miss him already!
He left his XBox here for Miduk to use :)

Miduk is being dramatic after allowing Kasey to cut his fingernails.  He has the LONGEST nails ever!  Especially on his pinky finger, which he says in Indonesia his brothers grow their pinky fingernail long and paint it black.  When I asked why they do that, he just shrugged and said he didn't know. Kasey has been dying to cut his nails! She promised she would get him some black polish for that now-shorter pinky nail, which we tease and call it "the nose-picker", haha!

Around the firepit with Donna and Cody (look up from your phone, Cody!)

Kasey and Miduk in the kitchen making Reeses Peanut Butter Cookies.
Notice the apron Miduk is wearing!  My friend Nora in Singapore sent that to me last week.  The fabric print is the same fabric as the flight attendants on Singapore Airlines wear!  I love it!  Thank you Nora!  :)  She also sent a box of Durian chocolates, yum!  I'm assuming that was a joke?  Durian is known as "the king of all fruits", and is the smelliest, nastiest thing I encountered while living in Singapore. A lot of the locals love it though.  Miduk told me he likes durian!  So I told him that Nora sent the durian chocolates just for him.  :)  We set some out on a plate to tempt Don Burkett, who, just as we thought, popped one in his mouth before asking what it was. HAHAHA let's just say he didn't swallow it!!!!!

We had a great time this weekend with the Burkett family.  The Burketts were our neighbors when we lived in Singapore from 2008 to 2010.  Cody is a sophomore at UTSA in San Antonio, Corey is a senior at Kingwood High School and Lacy is a junior.  It was nice that we could all be together again.  The guys went skeet shooting on Saturday morning, the girls shopped and went to a movie.  We had a big fish fry on Saturday night and Miduk told me he really liked the fish! I know he had a good time hanging out with Wes and Cody and Corey.  Unfortunately Wes had to leave to go back to Stillwater on Saturday afternoon, with classes starting on Monday.  Miduk really hated to see him leave, as did I!  They hung out a lot together during the school break which was nice.  Nice for Miduk to have a brother to hang out with, nice for me to get some much needed down time.  Miduk walked him out to his car, hugging him and saying "Bye brother!  Come again, come again!"
