This is the newsletter we sent out to friends and neighbors asking for donations for a fundraiser garage sale to help with Miduk's insurance costs.  We received countless donations and our garage was FULL!  The garage sale was a success and we had lots of help.  Thank you to all of you who donated items for the sale, to those of you who shopped the sale, and to those of you who helped us run the sale.  Connie and Jerry and Kit, we could not have done it without you!  Not to mention you made it fun!  :)

Hello friends and family!

Just wanted to tell you about our upcoming houseguest and ask for your help! 

Miduk is a 15 year old Indonesian boy living in a small village on the island of Sumatra.  He has a chronic displaced hip and is not able to walk long distances. Miduk has not attended school for the past 6 years due to his inability to walk to school.  We want to give him back his legs so that he can go back to school!  Our family will be hosting Miduk while he is here for treatment at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.  We are having a garage sale on Saturday Oct 15 in an effort to raise the money needed for one years' medical insurance for Miduk (approximately $1200).

This is where you can help!  Do you have any unused items that you would be willing to donate to the garage sale?  If so, please call or email me ASAP and we will be glad to come by and pick them up!  Or you can always drop it off at our house if you would like.  If we're not home, just put the items on the front porch!  All proceeds will be used to defray the cost of Miduk's insurance.  We plan to donate any unsold items to CCA.  So, look at this as an opportunity to clean out your attic, closets, garage - and all for a very worthy cause! 

Even if you are unable to donate items for the sale, you can help us by spreading the word about the sale:  SATURDAY OCTOBER 15, 8:00am to 2:00pm at 4001 Ashburton Way in Wellington/Hillcrest.

We appreciate your willingness to help, and especially your prayers for Miduk as he travels to the USA, far away from his own family.
